On September 9th 2014 the iPhone 6 16GB was announced. The dramatic changes that the announcement outlined meant that the release of the 8th generation of iPhone design was much anticipated. Later that month, on September 19th, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus were released - unsurprisingly the phones were a great success. Tech media website Re/code dubbed the phone as "the best smartphone you can buy". Just three days after the phone's release, Apple had sold a whopping 10 million units. It helped Apple grow their market share in the UK, taking up 39.5% of all smartphone sales in the country. Why was this model met with such success? Zapper can tell you why.

The iPhone 6 16GB was seen as the company's first foray into manufacturing smartphones with larger screens. At a large 4.7 inches, the phone's screen was sizably larger than its predecessor's. The screen itself was 'ion-strengthened' and described as a Retina HD Display. The important thing for Apple when increasing the screen size of its models was to ensure no display quality was lost. With 16:9 resolution of 326 ppi, Apple made sure of this. The large displays also used a multiple-domain LCD panel and the RGB pixels are skewed so that users can see pixels from every angle. Impressive, right?

Other big changes in this in the iPhone 6 was the power button location and the rear-facing camera. Due to the larger screen size, Apple deemed it necessary to move the power button to the side of the phone which made it much more accessible. The rear-facing camera was no longer nestled into the back of the phone as in previous models, instead the camera had a slight bulge around the lens. As you know, this model offers 16GB of memory, which is surprisingly the lowest memory option for the iPhone 6. This still offers plenty of room for media and such, and cements the phone's brilliance and usability.
